14120 - Lancaster School - Brass
This plate is a style common to mid & late Lancaster, Berks, Lebanon, Reading, N. Carolina, James River Basin School & Upper Valley School of Virginia. It has the wedding band and 5 flats. Widely used through 1810 on many guns. H=5-1/4” W=1-5/8” CL= 2” CH=7/16”

Lehigh Valley School or from a dated 1800 rifle from Bucks County and maker J. Shuler. Normally found on smoothbores up to 1800 from this area of Pennsylvania. It is cast flatter than this original plate which had a bit more arch. Correct for Rupp guns. Plate as cast works for early rifles by John Moll if plate retains flat shape. H= 5-3/8” W= 1-7/8” CL=2-1/4” CH=5/16”
